The 1960s saw our nation go from a time of great hopes on the horizon with a hip, young president named John F. Kennedy, to a country on the verge of a cultural collapse with protests and riots. Here and abroad, anger and resentment grew over the war in Vietnam, the rise of communism throughout Europe, and the neverending race issues that plagued this country.
But while the world around him was going through massive change, Elvis had returned home from the Army to take a hold of Hollywood and become a box office sensation! But life in front of the camera proved to be a challenge for The King and by decades' end, he returned back to the stage where he was in his element.
